IVF is a treatment which helps couples who are experiencing difficult in conceiving. IVF stands for In Vitro Fertilisation and is the process whereby egg cells are fertilised by sperm outside of the womb. IVF is a popular mode of treatment for couples who have experienced difficulty conceiving and can aid with couples suffering from primary and secondary forms of infertility. It is important when undergoing IVF that some precautions may be taken such as maintaining a healthy balanced diet and also refraining from laser treatments such as laser hair removal and forms of tattoo removal which may use substances that could be harmful.

A popular term which is used for babies conceived via the treatment of IVF is test tube babies due to the fact that a tube shaped glass container is used in uniting the sperm and the egg.  Some couples welcome the idea of IVF as a form of conceiving however others frown upon the system saying that it goes against mother nature.  Many people wishing to conceive after experiencing either primary or secondary infertility may decide that IVF is the suitable option for them and may need to discuss with their doctor about arranging the treatment.

The costs of IVF vary as if you have IVF treatment done privately it may cost more than having IVF treatment via the NHS who offer IVF funded treatments however there is a waiting lists for a funded IVF treatment but many couples who cannot afford private IVF choose the NHS.
