A Minimal Access Cranial Suspension (MACS) facelift corrects saggy facial features with simple, small incisions. Undesirable facial sagging is vertically lifted and then suspended from above. Scarring is minimized and located just in front of the ear(s) at the hairline. It is the procedure of choice for many with loose skin around the neck and lower face areas. Although, not as quick as a mini face lift, the results from MACS are astonishing. There are many benefits to choosing the MACS-lift over traditional face lift surgery procedures including:
• Minimal scarring at the hairline is easier to conceal;
• Generally safer because a smaller amount of skin tissue is lifted;
• Less risk of bleeding;
• No general anesthesiology or IV sedation is involved;
• Cost only about 1/3 of the price for a traditional face lift surgery;
• Less risk of nerve damage;
More reasons to choose a MACS-lift instead of a traditional face lift surgery:
• Faster, more efficient procedure takes about an hour less to perform;
• 2 to 3 weeks for recovery instead of 3 to 4 weeks;
• Significantly less bruising, swelling and bleeding after the surgery;
• More natural looking results than traditional face lifts;
• Can be combined with mini face lift procedures for enhanced results;
• Ideal candidates are between 40 and 70 years old, have sagging skin around the lower face and/or neck, and still have some degree of elasticity remaining in the skin;
The short incision is positioned in the fold of skin in front of the patients ear(s). It follows along the natural hairlines beneath the sideburns. Deep tissue access is granted through this small opening and sagging skin is able to be effectively lifted from below. Each patient will receive 2 or 3 sutures in the deep muscle tissues to provide strong, lasting suspension.
MACS face lift surgeries are becoming a very popular alternative to traditional facelift surgeries because they are less expensive, less invasive, faster-healing, more natural looking and generally safer.
